I have always had a passion for singing and performing. I grew up right here in Lafayette, Colorado and participated in choirs throughout my childhood.  I atteneded Fairview High School, where my love for music grew into a desire to teach and perform professionally. I earned a Bachelor of Choral Music Education degree from the University of Colorado and then attended the University of Michigan where I earned a Masters of Music in Voice Performance.  I am a classically trained mezzo-soprano and have had extensive vocal training, working with renowned teachers and coaches including Julie Simson, Martin Kats, Carmen Pelton, and Cody Garner.   I have extensive solo performance experience and have sung in several opera productions including Carmen, La Traviata, Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Jackie O. I most recently was featured as a soloist in the Interfaith Handel's Messiah Sing-Along in Denver, and as Mary in the Easter oratorio, Lamb of God.

I have been a private voice instructor in Boulder County since 2008 and have taught boys, girls, men, and women of all ages.  My approach to singing is one based on the physics of the voice and how postural and breathing techniques play into beautiful singing.  I employ various methods of teaching classical singing technique and I know how to quickly assess the individual needs of a student and individualize instruction accordingly.
